Chandler is an 8 month old mix of ???? (your guess is as good as ours) Heinz 57 dog. He is listed as a Smooth Collie, but is small, around 35 lbs. He looks like a super big Jack Russell, but doesn't have the personality of one by any means! He is very sweet and his foster dad tells us that we are already setting him up for failure by giving him the very best foster dog we could find, right off the bat! (We tend to do that on purpose, it's a ploy we have to get our foster homes to adopt all of their foster dogs!)

Here is what Chandler's foster dad has to say about Chandler:

Chandler is one of the best behaved dogs i've ever seen.  He walks great on a lead, sits on command, comes on command, and is completely crate trained.  He has a naturally gentle temperment, not a hint of aggression in any way, I can stick my hand in his food while eating or grab a new bone out of his mouth and he is completely OK with it.  He doesn't beg for people food or try to steal a bite if you set a plate down near him.  He is very people focused, he wants to be around you all the time.  I think he would do best in an active family with kids so he has plenty of people to play with.  A bad situation for him would be someone who works all day and leaves him kenneled then gets home and lets him outside and then leaves again.  He needs alot of attention.  A fenced in yard probably isn't a necessity for him because he is so focused on people, He would do well with a few walks every day.  when I let him outside he stays near me at all times except when he relieves himself and as a plus he only poops near the back of my fence line so there's no worry about stepping in anything and it makes clean up easy.  He also isn't much of a barker, the only time he does bark is when he sees another dog while going for a walk.  He has never barked even once when in my house. 

He is good with other dogs, but isn't overly submissive and doesn't like to be dominated.  He would be a great dog for an inexperienced dog owner because he listens so well. 






Chandler is neutered, up to date on rabies, vaccinations, heartworm negative, has been wormed and flea treated, and comes with a free first vet visit to a participating vet of your choice in the area.
