Chispita is here! She is a real sweet dog. She is a total lap dog and cuddlebug. She was nervous at first but has seemed to warm up to us very fast. She "layed down" for a treat and pawed at me for a belly rub. She also loves to give kisses. stay tuned for more info....
Chispita needs to go to a home with no small children. She comes from an abusive home and fast movements scare her. She is very needy- clingy- and will bond very tightly to the first person who shows her any sort of compassion and gentle touches. It is endearing when she gives you kisses, even knowing that she has been hit in the past and is so very willing to love humans again after what they have done to her. UNBELIEVABLE!

Chispita is becoming more and more at home with us. She loves just being near someone. We have been going on dailey walks and she enjoys them! She walks well on a leash. When we have her out in the yard with us we do not leash her, she stays right by our side. She is cute when she gets excited and her tail wags so fast and when we talk to her it's almost like she is trying to talk back! Very sweet! Despite her previous owners saying that she house soils she has only had one accident at our house. She seems to know to go "potty outside". Chispita would be great with someone who is maybe retired that is looking for a compainion. Or with someone who works from home that has the time to devote to her. She deserves the best.... she is an amazing dog!

Chispita is really stealing our hearts! She is coming out of her shell more and more each day. She greeted people on our morning walk with her tail wagging and is exploring more and more on her own during our walks. She is playing with my 50 pound hound dog mix (she actually chases her around the house lol). She is getting use to being in her crate during the day while we are gone to work. Pita is also very friendly towards my step kids and towards another little girl she met today. She has been introduced to alot of new people this week and instead of shaking like a leaf like she did at the beginning of the week, now it's just a few seconds of shaking if that and she is giving them kisses. She is a very mellow dog, not at all high strung. She is enjoying many new activities with us, including fishing :) She keeps everyone in line by falling asleep in her camping chair while everyone else is fishing. She is excellent in the car as well, we try to take her with us as much as possible because she HATES to be alone. I think Pita is alot stronger than we orginally expected. She is a great little girl.
Chispita is spayed, microchipped, is heartworm negative. She will be wormed and flea treated and have a heartworm pill shortly. She comes with a free first vet visit in the area.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats
Special Needs: Chispita (we didn't name her) is a 5 year old brown Chih.
Admitted by people who got her 6 months ago because she housesoils. They
stated when they reprimand her she fear-nips, pees and poops... who knows what
they did to her. They also never crated her or anything. And they tried spanking
her. She has lived with dogs, cats and a macaw and does fine
with all. Since being at the shelter, she's just a nervous nellie, not eating well,
shakes a lot, nervous about handling, etc. Her pictures say it all as to
how scared she is. She does like to crawl into your lap and cuddle.
She has made a few friends here too.
