About Jahdu

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Current Size: 107 Pounds
  • Current Age: 4 Years 3 Months (best estimate)
  • Housetrained: Yes

Jahdu is new to our rescue, but he is a total lovebug! He is a calm, gentle, soul who loves to give love and be loved. He always wants to be close by, following everywhere we go. He sleeps in the bedroom on the floor on a dog bed, although last night he crept up on the bed for a short time. He is currently being fostered with two goldens and gets along well with them. He goes with the flow, hanging out, laying around with them, but if they're ready to play, he is too. At first he wanted to be the dominant dog, but quickly accepted that wasn't going to happen. One time he got hurt playing, and all he did was yip and then continued playing nicely. He is a great dog! He has wonderful manners and would never think to put his feet up on the counter, climb on the couch or help himself to food. Juhdu is a strong dog but he is an obedient guy. He will sit and wait to go outside or be hooked up to a runner. If he attempts to pull on a walk, he responds quickly to correction. He is also being fostered with a cat whom he adores. The cat usually likes Jahdu and will approach him, but if Jahdu moves too fast, the cat gets frightened and runs, which causes Jahdu to think he's playing. Interactions with cats should be supervised initially. Jahdu has not been crated since he has been with us. His original owner shared he didn't respond well to being crated. Apparently he chewed and broke through his crate, injuring himself. He is free to roam the house while we are home or away. He has proven to be a very well behaved dog.

We found out a little more about Jahdu's history and will require he go to a home with another medium to large dog. He also can not be crated or contained in one room when being left alone. He does real well when left free in the house with another dogs to keep him company. He is not destructive and has not gotten into any mischief.
