Pryor was with our rescue last summer as a puppy and is back and looking for a new forever home because his adopter suffered a serious injury and was unable to care for him.
Pryor was a happy, outgoing and very sweet puppy. We are glad to report that he has not lost any of those characteristics now that he is a year old and weighs 60 pounds. Handsome and with beautiful baby-blue eyes, he is an Australian cattle dog/Blue Heeler mix.
He is house broken and crate trained, and walks exceptionally well on a leash. He has a lot of energy and loves to go for long walks and be outside. Pryor is full of energy and looking for a home with a fully fenced yard where he can run and play. Ideally, his new owner/family would have an active lifestyle in which he could participate enthusiastically.
He still goes into puppy mode and loves to play with sturdy dog toys. He’s also a cuddle bug and enjoys quiet moments. A Kong filled with salmon-flavored snacks keeps him happy, as does working on a Himalayan yak dog chew
Pryor is a well-mannered and smart dog, and understands commands including "sit" "paw", "come" "outside" and "eat." If he’s hesitant to come in after a walk or play session, just shine a flashlight on the ground and he will follow the beam as you “walk” him back into the house.
Pryor is good with children – his first foster home had four young girls. He loves being with other dogs and romping with the big dogs at the local dog park.
Pryor was rescued from South Texas with his mom and sister after being dumped on a ranch in the country. Before being rescued, he sustained an injury to his left front paw and ended up needing a toe amputated. That surgery has had no effect on his mobility.
Pryor is anxious to return to a new forever home. Could it be yours?
Pryor's adoption includes a first free vet visit certificate to keep him on a healthy track. Pryor has been neutered, microchipped, had his rabies, bordatella, and series of two distemper/parvo vaccines. He has also been dewormed and kept on monthly flea and heartworm preventatives.
