![]() Frankie has had a tough start. After being rescued as a stray in Kentucky, he was brought to his foster home in Buffalo. After being neutered, he developed a sore that would not heal correctly without the use of some antibiotic creams. Shortly after this he began to have difficulty walking and it worsened to the point where he could not get up without screaming in pain. After much testing an a MRI it was determined that he has discospondylitis. This condition caused him to be hospitalized and be treated with over 18 weeks of various antibiotics. Frankie is a fighter. While still hesitant to jump up on things he is able to enjoy short walks and loves lounging in in the sun or laying in his bed. He gets along with his two foster dog brothers. He has some anxiety when being let out and going to the vets understandably. He is wary of strangers at first but quickly warms up and will come overlooking for head pats and back scratches. Loves chewing on bones and getting treats. He is a little overweight from being sedentary but has always had a body slightly larger than his head (earning him the nickname Beetlejuice from his foster family). Frankie would do best in a home without small children and with someone who has time to learn and love his routines.
